The Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator is an essential link in the safe, cost-effective delivery of electric power across much of North America. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the physical security of buildings, equipment, personnel and infrastructure. Coordinate with local, state and federal authorities on relevant compliance issues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Create and enforce policies and procedures for the protection of physical assets and personnel.· Manage contract security services at all company locations. · Identify security gaps, develop and manage the planning of security improvements.· Prepare project proposals, annual budgets, cost estimates, and operate within cost and budgeting guidelines.· Maintain visual monitoring protection systems.· Plan, create and deliver training programs for employees on relevant safety issues.· Evaluate, plan and implement state and federal security requirements and processes for critical infrastructure facilities.· Develop, implement and manage the organizationâs safety programs. .· Maintain required safety and environmental program documentation.· Serve as point of contact for safety related insurance, municipal, state and federal inspectors.· Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SAS 70 (Statement on Auditing Standards 70), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission and Energy Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (Northern Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board). QUALIFICATIONS Education: · Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration or related technical field. · CPP and PSP certification preferred. Experience: · Five years facilities management or security projects within the utility industry.· Law enforcement or security at local, state or federal levels.· Corporate security of critical infrastructure; Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy standards facilities, and NERC CIP Compliance.· Three years managing third party security services. Knowledge: Physical security & safety requirements, techniques and processes. Infrastructure safety principles and procedures. Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues. Construction practices. Security remediation strategies. Skills:Commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork. Excellent communication and listening skills. Utilizing company policies appropriately. Negotiation and risk mitigation techniques. Abilities:Apply and adapt practices and techniques to a variety of projects. Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and the general public. Present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
