Energy Efficiency Consultant
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelors degree in marketing, business administration, construction management, engineering, or architecture; or an equivalent combination of work experience, education, and training. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to successfully interface with building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and other decision-makers to provide customized energy efficiency recommendations and support to decision-makers involved the design and construction of new and renovated facilities. Knowledge of nonresidential energy end-use technologies and applications is essential, and the ability to perform energy and financial analyses is desirable. Knowledge of California building energy standards (Title 24/Title 20), and the ability to read construction documents is a plus. Excellent oral and written skills are essential, especially in communicating technical material to non-technical audiences. Requires strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferences:
Degree: BA/BS. Previous experience in energy efficiency consulting in the nonresidential design and construction industry.
Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will provide technical support and analysis of energy efficiency opportunities for a diverse range of nonresidential new and renovated facilities in support of the Savings By Design program (see www.savingsbydesign.com). This individual will review project documents, investigate the effects that various design enhancements have on building energy use, quantify the resulting energy and economic impacts, and prepare formal correspondence and reports, as needed, for multiple customer projects as they progress through design and construction. The individuals will develop and maintain a broad internal and external network of industry contacts to enhance the delivery of statewide energy efficiency programs, as well as participate in appropriate industry organizations and activities to sustain relationships with key industry players.
